Traveller’s Documents Required for Foreign Currency Exchange

If you are planning to travel abroad and need foreign currency, certain documents are required as per government and RBI regulations. These documents help verify the traveller’s identity, travel purpose, and ensure compliance with foreign exchange guidelines.

To process your foreign currency request smoothly, please keep the following documents ready:

1. Passport Copy

A clear copy of the first and last page of the passport is required for identification and verification purposes. The passport must be valid for international travel.

2. Confirmed Return Air Ticket

A confirmed return flight ticket is required to verify the travel schedule and duration of stay outside India. This helps determine the amount of foreign currency allowed for the trip.

3. Valid Visa Copy

A valid visa issued by the destination country must be provided. The visa confirms the purpose of travel and ensures that the traveller is authorized to enter the foreign country.

4. PAN Card

A Permanent Account Number (PAN) card copy is mandatory for foreign exchange transactions as per Indian financial regulations. This helps maintain proper records and comply with tax requirements.
